Accountability & Ownership

Accountability & Ownership

Who will benefit?

This will benefit all individuals, whether leading a team, working in a team or running their own business looking to ensure both themselves and, if applicable, members of their team, deliver on tasks and activities within their remit.

Workshop Objectives

Accountability and ownership are linked but are essentially different. What are we held accountable for and how is this done? Do we really know? Do we ensure those we manage understand what we hold them accountable for and how do we impact on this as leaders? What do we need to take ownership of and to what degree do we do so? All of the above can significantly impact how well individuals and teams perform for the good of the business and, indeed, in our personal lives too.

Various practical activities are used throughout the workshop, the outline aims of which are to identify and understand:

  • What is ‘accountability’ and what are the benefits?

  • Who holds you to account and what are you held accountable for?

  • How have you made your team members accountable and what for?

  • How do you maintain their accountability ?

  • How well are your team members doing?

  • Methods to enable accountability and enhance individual and team performance

  • What is ‘ownership’ and what are the benefits?

  • What is the link between ‘accountability’ and ‘ownership’?

  • What are you responsible for (e.g. Goals, objectives, tasks)?

  • To what degree do you ‘own’ your goals, objectives and tasks?

  • What influences this and how can we enhance greater ownership

  • Actions to take away
