This will benefit those individuals wishing to understand the purpose and benefits of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and the steps to take to successfully implement it in order to proactively control process quality.

Workshop Objectives

Businesses create and operate processes in order to produce products and services to meet customer needs. It is important that processes are controlled in order to ensure the output meets defined specifications. Often, processes fail and result in unhappy customers, excessive downtime, frustration and inspection of produced output for defects. All very costly and non-value added.

SPC is a tool that process operators can implement and own to proactively ensure that a process stays in control, using the data to identify when an out of control situation may be imminent, enabling process adjustment prior to this happening. It is a great tool for avoiding unnecessary scrap, customer complaints and costs.

Practical activities are used throughout the workshop. The outline aims of the workshop are to identify and understand:
