Mid Wales Manufacturing Group (MWMG) successfully held an insightful webinar on energy procurement in the industry on Thursday, July 18th. The event featured Energy Bubble, renowned specialists in energy procurement, who provided expert guidance on navigating the complex energy market.

Energy procurement is a multifaceted area, often challenging for businesses to grasp fully. During the webinar, Energy Bubble demystified the sector, offering a comprehensive overview of the energy market drivers. Participants received valuable insights into understanding their energy bills, avoiding risk premiums, and mitigating carbon taxes.

Key topics covered included:

  • Understanding Your Energy Bills: Breaking down the approximately 30 individual charges that constitute an energy bill.

  • Avoiding Risk Premiums: Strategies to minimize additional costs imposed by suppliers.

  • Avoiding Carbon Taxes: Techniques to reduce carbon-related expenses.

  • Energy Strategy Review: Case studies demonstrating effective energy strategies.

  • Tips & Tricks: Practical advice to optimize energy procurement.

One of the primary takeaways from the webinar was the importance of understanding when to buy energy, how much to purchase, and selecting the most suitable contracts. The webinar also highlighted various relief options available to businesses, such as the Climate Change Agreement (CCA) and the Climate Change Levy (CCL), which can help lower energy costs.
