Skills and Training Clarity at the Mid Wales Business Networking
The latest Mid Wales Business Networking event was held in Welshpool on Tuesday (22nd January). The events which are held in conjunction with Business Wales and Mid Wales Chamber of Commerce to be a platform for the businesses of Mid Wales to come together, share information, opportunities, learning and challenges, a forum where the business community, can support each other. Over the year the events have covered topics such as entrepreneurship, Tax Digitisation, Recruitment and Support for rural business.
The event on Tuesday focused on the Skills and Training in the region and 3 speakers came along to enlighten the audience on what was available in Mid Wales and how businesses could further engage. Presentations from guest speakers can be downloaded below.
Nicola Thornton Scott, Assistant Principal for NPTC Group of Colleges provided information on the Group structure along with details of Full and Part time course, Work Based Learning, Higher Education opportunities including Degree Apprenticeships. Details were also provided on Upskilling at Work funds and the Skills Development Fund.
Jacky Jones from Careers Wales shared the latest vision and key objectives for the organisation along with details of Education Business Activities that they engage with and the Education Business Exchange scheme.
Jane Lewis from Regional Learning & Skills Partnership explained the purpose of the partnership, how it benefits Mid Wales and how organisation can engage with the partnership to ensure a true reflection of the areas needs. Employers in the region were invited to attend the Employer Cluster Group.

Finishing off Rowan Jones from Business Wales provided the audience with information on the Brexit Toolkit, and Brexit Resilience Fund, with further info on both available here https://businesswales.gov.wales/brexit/ and Ceri Stephens gave an update on the new membership format from Mid Wales Chamber of Commerce.
