Coaching Conversations
Tuesday 10th December, 1.30pm - 4.30pm, Newtown
Who will benefit?
This will benefit those individuals wishing to develop their coaching style of leadership, enabling team members to develop and think for themselves whilst, at the same time, finding more time to focus on own tasks.
Workshop Objectives
Often, leaders believe they are best served as solution providers to theory team members. If this is the case, how do team members grow if they are constantly being fed (as the saying goes. ‘Give a man/woman a fish, you feed them for a day, teach them how to fish and you feed them for a life). By developing a coaching style, leaders can become solution enablers, resulting in team growth, motivated staff AND a team that can make decisions without having to go back and fore to their leader as in ‘what do I do next boss?’ Generally, they know what to do, they perhaps don’t believe they can make the decision due to not being empowered OR they haven’t taken time to think it through. Of course, this allows the leader then to have more time to work on their key tasks AND ensure they are working at their level, rather than working on tasks their team should be completing. Coaching conversations can deliver this and a whole lot more.
Various numerical and practical activities are used throughout the workshop.
The outline aims of the workshop are to identify and understand:
What is the coaching style of leadership?
When to use the coaching style?
Benefits of the coaching style
Typical workplace conversations - outcomes?

Actions to take away.
