Assembly Operative, Stashed Products, Abermule

Stashed Products is a manufacturer and supplier of novel bike storage systems. This is a new role created due to a sustained increase in worldwide orders. The role will have multiple responsibilities and tasks in various areas that will be different every day. You will be the key person who builds and packages our unique SpaceRail bike storage system and dispatch to our valuable customers.

 

From building products and packaging to helping with part processing – a unique role that will be challenging, fast paced, and require a flexible skill set and the ability to learn new tasks quickly. Every day will be different, and the ideal person needs to be self-directed, motivated, and problem solve without external help. There is significant opportunity to have a big impact on Stashed Products and be part of building its exciting future.

 

The role is based in Abermule, Mid-Wales and is part or full time and there is a requirement to be onsite in the warehouse. Full training will be given to the right candidate. The ideal candidate will be motivated, be punctual, tidy, and ideally passionate about cycling and the environment and be up for a big challenge!

 

Responsibilities

 

1.      Assembly and manufacturing

a.       Building products from component parts

b.      Quality checking products and components at goods-in and during the production process

c.       Controlling and counting stock

2.      Packaging

a.       Building packaging ready for sale

b.      Packaging products ready for distribution

c.       Labelling products

3.      Distribution

a.       Taking order slips and packaging ready for dispatch

b.      Creating delivery orders

c.       Arranging delivery with couriers

d.      Arranging and processing returns

4.      General

a.       Various tasks to setup and help run new business areas

b.      Use of simple machinery and tools

c.       Driving of work van for pick up and drop off with suppliers

d.      Adhere to all current and future H&S rules and regulations.

e.       Adhere to all current and future HR rules and regulations.

f.        Any other reasonable duties.

Essential Skills

 

1.      Ability to work in a small team and independently

2.      Basic mechanical understanding of assembling products and ability to assemble intricate parts, requiring good hand dexterity

3.      Ability to lift and move 25kg

4.      Able to sit or stand for a prolonged period to operate small machines

5.      Keen eye for detail and quality

6.      Alerting required people to any problems with product assembly or quality

7.      Excellent time management and self-guided work, but also able to follow a very defined list of instructions

8.      Ability to use basic functions of stock control and accounting software for data entry and job recording

9.      Some ability to work flexible hours when required.

 

Desirable Skills

 

1.      Fork Lift Truck Licence (current)

2.      Able to use email and basic computer software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

3.      Full UK driving license

4.      Mechanical and product assembly understanding

5.      Mechanical and product assembly understanding

6.      Passion for cycling

 

Remuneration

 

1.      Full training provided

2.      £12.00 per hour

3.      37.5 hour working week with half day Friday:

a.       Monday – Friday / 08:15-17:00

b.      Friday / 08:15-14.00
