Production Manager, RM Group, Newtown

Summary

An exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to join our business in a production leadership role.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this is a management role that requires working across multiple projects simultaneously and in collaboration with the internal teams (project management, design, programming, manufacturing, assembly & installation), external partners and subcontractors to ensure the successful execution of projects from conception to completion.

Role:

Project Planning and Management: Lead the production planning & team management, offering an oversight of projects, influencing wider planning, manufacturing, and overall project processes.

Budgeting and Financial Management: Assist in managing project budgets, providing accurate estimates, quotes, and critical deadline updated to the PMO. Supporting ongoing project monitoring in terms of labour allocated on a planned vs actual basis.

Production Scheduling: Create and implement comprehensive production schedules, ensuring the timely delivery of all project components with your team.

Supply Chain Management: Supplier selection, specification, negotiation and ongoing management based on specific project requirements relating to external services used within the production process as well as ensuring internal materials/stock are managed within their respective internal work cells.

Quality: Implementing and maintaining quality control processes to ensure all projects meet design specifications and quality standards.

Leadership: Advise in-house team on common sense approach to multi aspects of projects, offering guidance and solutions as needed.

Analytical Approach: Reviewing data captured from the shop floor, relating to production times to monitor performance and continuously improve planning and output. Deliver key KPI reports to enable yourself and the board to monitor performance.

People Focused: Support your team day to day and facilitate decision making throughout your team. Manage appraisals and training for your team and support the leadership team with HR relating to your staff. You will provide critical linkage to other key departments within the business, such as Project Management, Design, Manufacturing and more.

Communication: Promote and perform consistent and high level written and verbal communication to your team and the wider business functions. Being upfront and honest with expectations and deadline projections.

Continuous Improvement: Focus on improving the processes and people within your team. Implementing lean manufacturing techniques where suitable and lead on continuous improvement.


Candidate required skills:

Previous proven experience in Production management or similar role. Minimum of 5 years’ experience.

Previous experience co-ordinating manufacturing/production teams. UK Full Driving License required.

The successful candidate will have a methodical, collaborative, thorough and focused approach to work and understand how to technically deliver projects on time, on quality.

Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and equipment. Good IT skills – MS Office.

Comfortable in generating, consolidating, analysing and reporting on production data.

Strong attention to detail and confidence to challenge business processes with a desire to improve. Strong decision-making ability, combined with a result driven approach.

Experience managing maintenance of a clean and tidy working shop floor environment.

Candidate preferable skills:

Relevant health and safety (IOSH/NEBOSH)

Project management qualification(s) preferable (e.g. Prince2/AGILE/PMP) Leadership & Management qualifications (e.g. ILM)

This role is based in our factory (SY16) fulltime.

Hours: 41 Hours, Monday-Thursday 08:00-17:00, Friday 08:00 – 12:00.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (gross) subject to experience and skillset.
