Senior CAD engineer, Bulk Automation, Llanidloes

Fantastic opportunity for a Senior 3D design engineer to work for an innovative company where you lead the design team in the day to day operations, you’ll also lead New Product Developments within the business. We are a growing, market leading company supplying industrial machinery for packaging and palletizing equipment across the UK and Ireland.

Role & Responsibilities:

·        Develop innovative new products and optimize existing designs for cost-efficiency, performance, and manufacturability.

·        Oversee prototype creation and testing, making improvements based on performance results.

·        Lead design reviews, ensuring technical guidance and quality across all projects.

·        Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturing processes using CAD software.

·        Ensure all product designs meet regulatory requirements and are documented to the highest standards.

·        Manage engineering change processes, ensuring efficient implementation of updates.

·        Ensure all BOM’s are complete and up to date

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

·        5+ years of experience in product design, ideally for medium to high-volume manufacturing environment.

·        Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and to specification.

·        A sound knowledge of mechanical equipment

·        Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, collaborative approach.

·        Experience or desire to design industrial machinery

·        Ensuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards and objectives.
