Rocket Making for Young People

Myrick Training in Hendomen was the venue for aspiring Rocket makers over the Christmas Holidays.  Organised by Mid Wales Manufacturing Group the day was arranged to support the Futureproofing Engineering Skills Provision in Powys Project which is supported by Powys County Council.

The aim of this project is to ensure the future growth and development of the manufacturing and engineering sector in Powys by helping to address the skills and training barriers being faced by the industry, which employs over 5000 people in Powys.

These young engineers designed, constructed, built and launched their rockets across the skies and learnt about how to build a strong but light frame, design their own aerodynamic body prototypes and explore mechanics.
