Company History: Control Techniques was created in Newtown in 1973. In 1983 the first Drive Centre abroad was opened in Asia. By 1988 there were three Drive Centres in the UK and 1 in Europe. Now, with 45 Drive Centres globally, Control Techniques is owned by Japan’s Nidec group of companies.

Products: AC drives, DC drives, Soft starter, AC servos, DC servos and motion controllers. Control Techniques' World Drives Assembly facility produces some 60, 000 printed circuit boards per month using 120,000,000 surface mount and 1,500,000 conventional components.

Processes: Control Techniques World Drives Assembly Facility produces some 25,000 printed circuit boards per month using 10,000,000 surface mount and 1,500,000 conventional components. Barcode controlled ATE test on every PCB, through hole PCB assembly, Conventional ATE and completed PCB control. Module assembly, Packing and shipment, Intelligent batch soak. Inspection and packing.
