Growing your business in defence using innovation funding from the Defence and Security Accelerator

The Defence and Security Accelerator are a funder of innovation across Defence and Security on behalf of UK Government. They have a suite of different funding mechanisms designed to support businesses across the development pipeline ranging from -

  1. contract funding of early-stage innovation,

  2. grant funding in enabling innovation to impact the defence supply chain.

  3. finance to help business scale and commercialise innovative solutions for Defence.

The Welsh Government, in conjunction with the Defence and Security Accelerator, is hosting a webinar to raise awareness of two of these key innovation funding mechanisms available to companies in Wales. The session will focus on the -

  1. Defence Technology Exploitation Programme, the Defence and Security Accelerators key supply chain strengthening funding mechanism, designed to enable innovation within current and future supply chains to Defence.

  2. Defence Innovation Loans, an exciting opportunity to allow funding of mature innovations to commercialisation and a credible mechanism to close the innovation funding "valley of death".  

The session will be delivered by Tom Adamson, the Innovation Partner in Wales for the Defence and Security Accelerator and Lynsey Parke, one of the new Business Relationship Managers within the Defence and Security Accelerator. The hour-long session will be structured to give: -

  1. An overview of the Defence and Security Accelerator

  2. Detailed information on using the aforementioned funding mechanism to grow your business within Defence.

  3. Support mechanisms to business from the Defence and Security Accelerator

  4. Opportunity for Question and Answers

Although this event is targeted at businesses based in Wales, both the Defence and Security Accelerator and Welsh Government encourage engagement from across the whole UK.
