Jobcentre Plus have developed the Rapid Response to Redundancies (RRS) into a ‘virtual service’ to take into account the limitations due to Covid 19.   RRS covers help and advice on looking for work; information about benefits, and where someone can go for further information/support.

  • Their aim is to work with employers to deliver flexible, timely, and appropriate support for them and their employees; and to help people secure a job or move into self-employment quickly - and ideally without the need to claim welfare benefits.

  • The virtual service will be facilitated through a 1-2-1 outbound call service to all employees that wish to receive support, following them emailing our shared inbox to ask for this support (nmw.employmentteam@dwp.gov.uk).

  • Provide information and guidance on a range of redundancy related topics, provide insight on the current labour market and discuss next steps.

  • Signpost customers to additional/specialised support through their partnership network depending on the circumstances/needs of the individual. They have strong working relationships with a number of organisations who can offer training opportunities, support with wellbeing/health conditions, financial advice and personal/private pension information, to name a few.

  • In addition a range of digital products have been developed nationally to provide information on the support available through the RRS - https://youtu.be/DCiVdsq_-MM

Careers Wales will deliver Working Wales services to all eligible affected employees; their support available can be summarised as follows:

  • Help with planning next steps, overview of current local and national labour market information

  • Access to information on the Welsh Government’s ReAct scheme with access to funding for training and employer’s subsidies.

  • Help with writing or improving your CV

  • Help with interview techniques and application forms

  • Help with job searching skills and recruitment trends

  • Access to our weekly vacancy bulletin with links to all the most up-to-date vacancies within Wrexham and surrounding areas.

  • Signposting to other supporting agencies that can help you
