Workshop Aims
How useful is social media and other ‘mass media’ marketing communication in a Business to business environment? This workshop gives insight in how to get closer to your customers to keep them for longer (so improving customer lifetime value) and developing leads into new customers through sales led marketing, using push rather than pull strategies. Of course social media etc. have their places, but in manufacturing environments (and other B2B) relationship building is key.
The day will include the opportunity to negotiate between ‘clients’ and ‘sales’ teams, to understand more about building relationships with customers and suppliers and the difference between push and pull strategies in marketing for the best results in a b2b environment where many companies sit in the middle of a supply chain or business network, rather than at the point of consumption. This is about generating the correct number of targeted leads for your company rather than a scatter gun approach – which often fails.

Course Delivery: This course will be delivered by Dr. Julie Jones PhD, FCIM, MA, FHEA, PGCTHE, DipM, Chartered Marketer and Lecturer at Aberystwyth University. Prior to working at the University, Julie led an EMEA (Europe Middle East and Africa) wide team for IBM for a number of years before setting up her own marketing consultancy specialising in Strategic Marketing and CRM/Customer Care for SMEs in the manufacturing and finance industries predominantly.
