Working with Welshpool Youngsters on STEM Success
Nearly 700 young people from Welshpool took part in a series of workshops to support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) last week. The sessions had been arranged by Mid Wales Manufacturing Group to support the Futureproofing Engineering Skills Provision in Powys Project which is supported by Powys County Council. The aim of this project is to ensure the future growth and development of the manufacturing and engineering sector in Powys by helping to address the skills and training barriers being faced by the industry.
Young Engineers Blast off on Rocket Day
Young People in Powys were able to enjoy one of the last days of their Christmas holidays by taking part in a Rocket Making Day in Montgomery. Over 20 young people took up the opportunity with organisers Mid Wales Manufacturing Group.
Budget Boost for Mid Wales Growth Deal

Engineering HNC in Newtown

Up to £3500 funding available for new apprentices
Employers may be eligible to claim £3500 toward the cost of employing an Apprentice.
The Welsh Government has launched an incentive scheme to help you with your apprentice recruitment.
Employers will be eligible for the incentive if they meet the criteria including haveing not had an employee start an apprenticeship in the previous 30 months.
