Rocket Making for Young People
Myrick Training in Hendomen was the venue for aspiring Rocket makers over the Christmas Holidays. Organised by Mid Wales Manufacturing Group the day was arranged to support the Futureproofing Engineering Skills Provision in Powys Project which is supported by Powys County Council.

Newtown Charity seeks items to be donated
Newtown based Charity magik Incorporated are looking for scarp items to be donated to reuse in Child’s play. Throughout our settings we encourage what is called ‘loose parts play’. A ‘loose parts’ toy, is open-ended; children may use it in many ways and combine them with other loose-parts through imagination and creativity.

MWMG Welcome Bank of England Member
On Tuesday Mid Wales Manufacturing Group (MWMG) were pleased to have arranged an informal round table discussion with Dr Gertjan Vlieghe a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England and some MWMG Members.
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is made up of nine members – the Governor, the three Deputy Governors for Monetary Policy, Financial Stability and Markets and Banking, the Chief Economist and four external members appointed directly by the Chancellor.
Promoting the Sector to Powys Youth
Mid Wales Manufacturing Group were delighted to take part in the Choose Your Future Powys Careers Festival held on 7th March 2018 at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells. Around 3,000 pupils from across Powys attended the event. The interactive careers and skills festival is organised by the Positive Pathways Powys partnership – a multi-agency group made up of Powys County Council, Careers Wales, Secondary schools in the county, the NPTC Group of Colleges, Cambrian Training and the Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations. The partnership aims to highlight to young people the opportunities available to them when they leave school or college.

The aim of this project is to ensure the future growth and development of the manufacturing and engineering sector in Powys by helping to address the skills and training barriers being faced by the industry.
Young Engineers Blast off on Rocket Day
Young People in Powys were able to enjoy one of the last days of their Christmas holidays by taking part in a Rocket Making Day in Montgomery. Over 20 young people took up the opportunity with organisers Mid Wales Manufacturing Group.
Budget Boost for Mid Wales Growth Deal
Mid Wales Manufacturing Group recently gave evidence at the National Assembly’s Economy Committee and has been working with Powys & Ceredigion Councils and other public and private sector representatives on the Growing Mid Wales Partnership looking at an Economic Framework for the region.
